I earned my Ph.D. in the Human and Social Dimensions of Science and Technology program out of the School for the Future of Innovation in Society at Arizona State University. My interdisciplinary work lies at the intersection of Health Services Research (HSR), Science and Technology Studies (STS), (Health) Informatics, and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) disciplines.

I draw on and contribute to these fields to research technology and work in the context of healthcare, with a focus on understanding the social construction of medical treatment and uncovering the nuances of Patient Work (the practices and labor of those navigating the health care system to manage their illnesses and treatments) through the case of chronic illness.

As a passionate qualitative researcher and social scientist, I investigate how to enhance health outcomes and the patient experience, especially for those living with chronic illness. My research spotlights patient narratives managing complex care coordination in order to shift understanding of disease and treatment from the perspectives of patients themselves. I leverage interdisciplinary expertise to craft impactful stories illuminating opportunities to influence the design and implementation of patient-centered technologies, care coordination strategies, and delivery innovations that enrich experiences.

My skillset translates seamlessly into driving organizational performance on initiatives from intervention design to health care delivery enhancements to measuring patient-centered care improvements. I strive to forge partnerships solving challenges for government health agencies, healthcare institutions, non-profits, and other groups dedicated to improving lives. My core mission is utilizing an equity lens and empathetic approach, ensuring health systems provide the comprehensive assistance diverse patient groups need to thrive. I aim to give voice to patient narratives managing chronic illness to inform practical improvements in care support across all realms, from information technologies to treatment delivery.

I earned my Master of Science in Science of Health Care Delivery from Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions. During my time at ASU, I have been working alongside my committee chair, Katie Pine.

In my spare time, I enjoy doing at-home yoga, continuously learning about my beloved home of Arizona, being the best Auntie I can be, and basking in the sitcom world.
